Cut the Base – Slice off the bottom 2 inches of a celery bunch. Save the stalks for cooking and keep the base intact for regrowth.
Place in Water – Put the celery base in a shallow bowl with about an inch of water. Keep it in a sunny location, such as a windowsill.
Change Water Regularly – Refresh the water every 1-2 days to prevent bacteria buildup. Within a few days, small green shoots will start emerging from the center.
Monitor Root Growth – After 1-2 weeks, tiny roots will form at the bottom. Once they are about an inch long, the celery is ready to be transplanted into soil.
Transplant into Soil – Plant the celery base in a pot or garden bed with nutrient-rich soil. Bury the base, ensuring the new shoots are above the soil surface.
Provide Proper Care – Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Place the plant in a location with at least 6 hours of sunlight daily for healthy growth.
Watch for Growth – Within a few weeks, new stalks will continue growing. Remove any yellow or damaged leaves to encourage strong, healthy development.
Harvest When Ready – In about 3-4 months, your celery will be fully grown. Cut stalks as needed, allowing the plant to continue producing for an extended harvest.
