What We Believe

WE BELIEVE IN ...

God the Father : the creator and sustainer of all creation;
 the One who has a plan and destiny for every created being.

Jesus the Son : the savior and redeemer of all fallen mankind;
the One who, through His life, death, burial, and resurrection
made it possible for every believer to be restored
to His original, Righteous state before a Holy God.

Holy Spirit : the teacher, comforter, and empowerer of every believer;
the One who equips us to live victoriously in a fallen world by walking
in the power and authority of Christ's completed work on the cross.

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of The Epicenter, based on the foundational truths taught in the Word of God. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in, and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God Is Good

This truth is THE cornerstone of our theology.  Jesus perfectly reveals the nature of God as a good Father. God is good, regardless of our circumstances. God is generous, and as we remember and retell what He has done, He is able and eager to do it again.

Nothing Is Impossible

We know that God alone lives in the realm where nothing is impossible.  However, through the completed, victorious work of Jesus, He made it possible for those who believe in Him to experience that same reality. When we truly believe that NOTHING is impossible with God, we realize that we carry solutions for the death, sickness, loss, and destruction that plagues humanity.

Jesus' Blood Paid For Everything

When Jesus uttered the words for the cross, "It is finished", He meant it!  In that exact moment, everything that needed to be done for our eternal destiny was fully accomplished.  As believers, there is nothing that we will ever need that has not already been purchased and paid for in full.

Every Person Is Significant

Honor recognizes and affirms how valuable and powerful other people are because they are made in His image.  Stability in life only comes when people see themselves the way God sees them.  It is our responsibility to be active in this process, and serving well opens the door.

Salvation Establishes New Identity

We are NOT merely “sinners saved by grace”, we are completely new creations ... saints who have been given HIS righteousness. We are the very sons and daughters of God, adopted as royalty into His family.

Grace Frees Us

God recklessly loves His creation and extends grace, empowering believers to love Him and others at a higher standard than the law. Jesus died to set us free from the law of sin, death, fear, and shame.  Deeply experiencing grace enables us to walk out sin and into righteousness.

Presence-based Living

The #1 value of Heaven is the presence of God.  Therefore, the #1 value of our lives must be His presence.  Our first ministry is to Him. As a way of life, we focus on Him first.  Then, out of the overflow, we minister to others ... striving to say what we hear God saying, and do what we see God doing.

God's Word Transforms

When we encounter God in the Word, faith is released into our lives. As we study Scripture, it empowers us to learn who God is, who we are, and how He wants to live His life through us.

God Still Speaks

Jesus said that His sheep would know His voice and that the Holy Spirit would teach us all things. It’s natural for God to communicate with His family and important for us to listen, learn His language, and test what we are hearing with Scripture.

Kingdom Ministry is Supernatural

Jesus promised that miracles, signs, and wonders would follow believers, and that they would do even greater works than He.  Through His Holy Spirit working in and through us, no person or situation is beyond His ability to bring complete restoration.

God's Kingdom Is Advancing

Every believer is in full-time ministry because God is advancing His Kingdom, not just building His Church. Our work and effort, whether big or small, inside or outside the church, is sacred and valuable to God.  In every area of life, we serve the God of increase.

Modeling Healthy Family

Because we are adopted into God’s family, we intentionally purpose to model family and community wherever we go.  We strive to think like healthy family members, looking to do what’s best for the whole environment, honoring to one another, and living selflessly.

The Church Matters

We believe that the Church is still the entity that God intends to use to successfully fulfill Christ’s great commission to make disciples of all nations.  Thus, it is our belief that it is only through the restoration of the original intent of the New Testament Church, as set forth in the Book of Acts, that nations have the hope to be transformed.

Generosity Reflects Our Father

God is extravagantly generous. The depth of His generosity is clearly seen throughout His creation.His covenants, provision, the person of Jesus, and the release of His Kingdom consistently model the truth that it is more blessed to give than to receive. God's promise is to bless us in every way, so that we can be a blessing to the world around us.Generosity is a powerful way to advance the Gospel of our Kingdom.Our generosity is a response to, and reflection of ... HIM!
